Race Format

Sec. 21-1:

The car count at the close of the drawing for qualifying heats will determine the number of heats to be run. As each number is drawn for a car, that number will be posted and this procedure will be repeated until a number has been drawn for each car that wishes to compete. The lowest number goes to the pole of the first heat race, the next lowest drawn number goes to the pole of the second heat, etc. Once pole position in each heat is filled, the next lowest number goes to the outside front row of the first heat race, etc. If there are an uneven number of cars to equally distribute between heats, the last cars will be placed at the back of the lowest numbered heats. Any cars not represented at the drawing shall be placed at the rear of a heat race and will not earn passing points.

The passing point system will be used to determine starting positions in feature events. The driver will receive points for passing as well as finishing position with the driver accumulating the most points from heat races starting in the pole position. in the event of a tie in passing points, the driver who first earned the points shall be aligned in front of any subsequent driver earning the same number of points. Passing points will be figured on the official race line-up posted prior to the heats. If a driver fails to draw for a heat race starting position, he will not receive 'passing points', only 'finishing position points' in his heat.

Passing Point Schedule:

Points awarded for Heat Finishing position:

  1. 59
  2. 55
  3. 51
  4. 47
  5. 43
  6. 39
  7. 35
  8. 31

    Inversion:

The inversion was voted on in 2010. The driver with the highest points after the heat races will draw a number from 2-6, this determines how many cars are inverted.

Inversion Example: a 5 is drawn, Car #5 will now start on the pole & Car #1 will move to 5th, Car #4 will start on the outside and Car #2 will move to 4th, Cars #3, #5 & #6 will remain the same.

    Starts/Restarts

    Sec. 22-1:

Original start will be double file, flagman will start race coming off turn four. After third attempt at start cars will start the race single file.

Yellow Flag restarts will be diamond restarts. All cars must be in a single line as soon as possible to facilitate track officials in re-alignment.

Red Flag: ALL CARS STOP IMMEDIATELY in a safe manor. (THE REMAINDER OF THIS RULE MAY NOT APPLY TO ALL TRACKS) NOTE: NEED TO ATTEND ALTWM DRIVERS MEETING ON RACE DAY IF IN DOUBT. Remain stopped until imminent danger is over, if you choose to exit the track you must do so in a safe manner and avoid the problem area on the track. NO RACING THRU THE INFIELD, if you go off the track under a red light YOU MUST GO TO THE BACK. NO EXCEPTIONS or you will be black flagged.

Anyone getting out of his or her car on the track (except for emergency reasons) will be disqualified.

If you are stopped when the yellow flag is thrown for any reason you will go to the back, even on the original start. NO EXCEPTIONS.

    Points Regulations

    Sec. 23-2:

All cars will receive twenty-five "show up points".

Five points will be awarded for non qualifiers starting in a consolation race. No money will be awarded in a consolation race.

For the Hard Charger Award, One point will be given for each car passed in the Feature Only. These points only accrue for the per race Hard Charger Award and ultimately add up for the Hard Charger of the Year Award.
