RACE FORMAT
Sec. 21-1: The following are the procedures of the race format.
1) The car count at the close of the drawing for qualifying heats
will determine the number of heats to be run. As each number is drawn for a car, that number will be posted and this procedure
will be repeated until a number has been drawn for each car that wishes to compete. The lowest number goes to the pole of
the first heat race, the next lowest drawn number goes to the pole of the second heat, etc. Once pole position in each heat
is filled, the next lowest number goes to the outside front row of the first heat, etc. If there are an uneven number of cars
to equally distribute between heats, the last cars will be placed at the back of the lowest numbered heats. Any cars not represented
at the drawing shall be placed at the rear of a heat race and will not earn passing points.
2) The passing point system will be used to determine starting positions in feature events. The driver will
receive points for passing as well as finishing position with the driver accumulating the most points from heat races starting
in the pole position. In the event of a tie in passing points, the driver who first earned the points shall be aligned
in front of any subsequent driver earning the same number of points. Passing points will be figured on the official race line-up
posted prior to the heats. If a driver fails to draw for a heat race starting position, he will not receive 'passing
points', only 'finishing position' points in his heat.
3)
Passing Point Schedule is as follows:
Points awarded
for Heat Finishing position:
1. 59 |
2. 55 |
3.
51 |
4. 47 |
5. 43 |
6. 39 |
7. 35 |
8. 31 |
Points awarded per cars passed:
1 car 1 ½ pts |
2 cars 3 pts |
3 cars 4 ½ pts |
4 cars 6 pts |
5 cars 7 ½
pts |
6 cars
9 pts |
7 cars
10pts |
8 cars
12pts |
Passing Points
Example: Car #1 starts 6th in his heat and finishes 2nd. That car just earned 61 points. (55 for finishing 2nd,
plus 6 passing points) If car #2 started on the pole and won the heat, his points awarded are 59. From this example,
Car #1 will start the feature ahead car #2. PASSING POINTS ARE NOT EARNED TOWARDS CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS. PASSING
POINTS ONLY SERVE AS A MEANS OF DETERMINING THE FEATURE RACE LINE UP. IF A DRIVER FAILS TO DRAW, THAT DRIVER WILL NOT
RECEIVE 'PASSING POINTS', ONLY 'FINISHING POSITION' POINTS IN HIS HEAT.
STARTS/RESTARTS
Sec. 22-1: The following are the procedures of the starts/restarts.
1) Original start will be double file, flagman will start race coming

TO ATTEND ALTWM DRIVERS MEETING ON RACE DAY IF IN DOUBT. Remain stopped until imminent danger is over, if you choose to exit
